On August 24th, 1992, Dade County, Florida experienced
the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. Murton Roofing
Corp. was ready! Using lessons learned from Hurricane
Hugo in South Carolina in 1989, Murton Roofing has developed
and established a comprehensive disaster response plan.
This plan calls
for the immediate stockpiling of materials once hurricane
warnings are issued. Also, work crews are placed on
standby notice - ready to be dispatched to the areas
where they are needed. Supervisors implement a rigorous
equipment check - to ensure that our infrastructure
is operating properly and can withstand use in less
than ideal conditions. In the case of Hurricane Hugo,
we were able to dispatch crews and equipment from Miami
to Charleston, South Carolina within 24 hours of the
storm impact. Work crews from South Carolina were in
Miami within 24 hours of Hurricane Andrew. Because of
proper planning - these crews not only brought equipment
- they also brought much needed supplies from material
suppliers not in the destruction area.
Murton Roofing's Disaster Response
plan allows us the ability to function to operate at
full capacity - under the most adverse conditions. With
the additional experiences gained during the Hurricane
Andrew aftermath, Murton Roofing has been able to fine
tune the Disaster Response plan - and is able to apply
it to ANY location in ANY type of disaster.
